In 1922, the French cinema production company Pathé launched the Pathé-Baby, a range of compact cameras and projectors using small 9.5 mm film. To mark the centenary of its release, the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé presents the exhibition “Pathé-Baby, le cinéma chez soi” retracing the history of this small pioneering camera that spawned generations of amateur filmmakers in the 1920s. Through a unique selection of archive films and accessories, promotional material and printed ephemera, visitors can discover this iconic brand that was to transform the way people experienced cinema by bringing it into their homes for the first time.

The exhibition graphics are informed by the aesthetic world of the original Pathé-Baby brand, drawing inspiration from the rounded-edged rectangular shape of the camera body and the projection screen. The title echoes the original logotype with its distinctive underlining and diagonal arrangement. The colour palette revisits the brand’s blue and orange tones through material and printed matter.
