Faustine Martin is a French photographer from Marseille. Inspired by the soft natural lights and landscapes of the Mediterranean coast, her images are imbued with the warmth of the region, yet with a certain nostalgia. In “18 h, le soir en été.”, the story moves around two characters, barely suggested like an ephemeral presence who, throughout the book, accompany us in the reminiscence of this whirlwind of life.
The hue of the cover reflects the deep blue of the sea, a central theme in Martin’s work. A recycled leather surface evokes the feel of an old book, contrasting with the sparkling electric blue of the endpapers. The interior features a warm uncoated paper that beautifully captures the photographs’ delicate colours through a simple layout that builds an intriguing and poetic narrative.
